  • 0

This guide explains how to migrate a website from one cPanel account to another using the Backup Wizard with Partial Backups, without WHM or root access. This method avoids downloading a full account backup and is ideal for shared hosting environments.

When to Use This Method

Use this method if:

  • You do not have WHM/root access

  • You have access to both old and new cPanel accounts

  • You prefer partial backups instead of a full account backup

  • You want clients to download and restore selected data manually

What Will Be Migrated

Using Partial Backups, you can migrate:

  • Website files (Home Directory / public_html)

  • MySQL databases

  • Email forwarders and filters

  • Email accounts (mail data)

Step 1: Generate Partial Backups from Old cPanel

  1. Log in to the old cPanel account

  2. Open Backup Wizard

  3. Click Back Up

  4. Select Partial Backup

  5. Download ALL of the following items:

    • Home Directory (website files)

    • MySQL Databases (download each database)

    • Email Forwarders & Filters (if used)

Save all downloaded files securely on your local computer.

Step 2: Upload Website Files to New cPanel

  1. Log in to the old cPanel account
  2. Open Backup Wizard
  3. Click Back Up or Restore
  4. Select Restore
  5. In Selec restore Type
  6. Upload ALL of the following items you have downloaded earlier, respectively:
    • Home Directory (website files)

    • MySQL Databases (upload each database)

    • Email Forwarders & Filters (if downloaded)

Important Notes

  • Always keep copies of all partial backup files

  • Large sites may generate multiple database files

  • This method provides more control than full backups
